Head coach Park Hang-seo has finalized Vietnam’s 23-man roster to meet Malaysia in the World Cup 2022 qualifiers.
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Park announced the official list on October 9. Rookies Nguyen Viet Phong and Nguyen Trong Hung remain.
Pham Xuan Manh and Tran Van Kien are gone, according to several news sources. This was predictable, as the left wing already has 6 solid players.

Park revealed that Xuan Manh and Van Kien will stay for the Indonesia match as a back-up for injured players.
Nguyen Cong Phuong (Sint Truiden), Doan Van Hau (Heerenveen), and Dang Van Lam (Muangthong United) remain on the roster.
The Vietnam-Malaysia match of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers will kick off at 8:00pm on October 10 at My Dinh Stadium.
Vietnam’s 23-man roster for match against Malaysia:
Goalkeepers (3): Dang Van Lam (Muangthong United), Nguyen Tuan Manh (Sanna Khanh Hoa BVN), and Pham Van Cuong (Quang Nam).
Defenders (6): Nguyen Thanh Chung (Hanoi), Do Duy Manh (Hanoi), Nguyen Huu Tuan (Ho Chi Minh City), Doan Van Hau (Heerenveen SC), Que Ngoc Hai (Viettel), and Bui Tien Dung ( Viettel).
Midfielders (8): Nguyen Tuan Anh (HAGL), Vu Van Thanh (HAGL), Nguyen Phong Hong Duy (HAGL), Pham Duc Huy (Hanoi), Nguyen Quang Hai (Hanoi), Do Hung Dung (Hanoi) ), Nguyen Huy Hung (Quang Nam), and Nguyen Trong Hoang (Viettel).
Forwards (6): Nguyen Van Toan (HAGL), Nguyen Cong Phuong (Sint Truidense), Nguyen Anh Duc (B. Binh Duong), Nguyen Viet Phong (Viettel), Nguyen Trong Hung (Thanh Hoa), and Nguyen Tien Linh ( B.Binh Duong).
