Belgium’s Sint-Truidense coach Marc Brys has leveled a critique of Cong Phuong’s game and offered some advice to the Vietnamese striker tapped to be in the lineup against Waregem in round 5 of the Jupiler Pro League this weekend.
The 24-year-old Phuong has been added to Sint-Truidense’s lineup four times but has only played one game.
“Cong Phuong is a friendly guy. He is fast and skillful but lacks tactical awareness. He has yet fit into my strategy on the field. In addition, he needs to better understand when to dribble, and when not to,” Brys told a press briefing before the match.
Cong Phuong is struggling to find a place in the lineup as Sint-Truidense continues recruiting new strikers. Phuong, however, will likely have a chance this weekend as key players on the team Botaka and Boli will sit out due to injury and suspension.
Sint-Truidense will take on Waregem at 1:00am on Sunday (Vietnam time).
