Qatar unveils 2022 World Cup logo

Qatar has publicized the logo of the 2022 World Cup which signifies how much it means to the host country and the rest of the world.

It represents a vision towards connection and a connecting world as well as local culture.

The logo’s “swooping curves” symbolize desert dunes. The infinity symbol represents the interconnected nature while number eight reminds of the number of stadiums that will host the games.

The logo, a modified image of the World Cup trophy, also features a woolen shawl, a traditional symbol of the Arab and Gulf region, and Central Asia. It also implies that the FIFA World Cup tournament will be held for the first time in winter, with the final rounds slated for November and December.
