The Star newspaper said Park Hang-seo is under massive pressure before the game tonight.

Vietnam will play an important match tonight against Malaysia in the World Cup 2022 qualifiers. In the previous three matches, Park got two wins and a draw.

Ahead of the game at Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium, the Malaysian press expressed confidence in their team’s strength.

The Star said Malaysia could easily win just because Park Hang-seo side is so burdened by fans’ expectations.

The weight of expectations could bring Vietnam to their knees when they take on Malaysia in the 2022 World Cup Asian qualifiers Group G match. In their last eight matches this year, the Golden Dragons have not been breathing fire. They lost three, won two, and drew three, including a 0-0 draw against Thailand in their Group G opener on September 5.

Malaysia coach Tan Cheng Hoe believes the pressure of playing in the sold-out stadium tonight could also affect Malaysia’s players: “In the Asian Cup Vietnam had a good tournament, reaching the final eight. They have done well and made the people proud.”

At a pre-match press conference, Park Hang-seo said he doesn’t think about what happened in the past and looks forward to three points. The Korean strategist also said Malaysia is now stronger than last year and he and his players are ready to win for their supporters.

Tonight’s match will kick off at 8:00pm
